The wedding of Catherine Middleton and Prince William
"The bride was styled by James Pryce supported by Richard Ward. The bridal party was styled by the Richard Ward team.
Award-winning hairdresser Richard Ward is at the forefront of British hairdressing. Famous for his signature innovative yet wearable couture hair, Richard has cultivated a unique team of long-serving, professional and talented experts, renowned for their outstanding technical knowledge and creative abilities, combining a unique personal service, with an extraordinary wealth of experience.
James has been in the hairdressing industry for over 15 years, gaining extensive knowledge from working in salons such as Trevor Sorbie and Daniel Galvin. James joined the Richard Ward team in 2006 and immediately became a member of the Artistic Team where he has worked on numerous sessions, shows and photographic shoots and worked with Richard on various TV projects. James specialises in precision and designer cutting of both long and short hair; his hair philosophy is that a great look lies in the cut, and his diverse technical abilities have led to him building a strong following.
Catherine’s bridal look is called the ‘Demi Chignon’ — an up-do style which combines a classic bridal look with a regal, couture finish. The focus of the style was Catherine’s unique and individual halo style tiara, set just back from the hairline, which determined the finished look.
Pippa’s hair was beautifully styled by one of our bridal experts, Fiona Chandler, who has been a member of the Richard Ward team for nearly 20 years. The bridesmaids and page boys were styled by Sonia Jittla and Sabrina Thompson, who have both been members of the Richard Ward team for over ten years and began their careers at Richard Ward as apprentices.
Richard and James were extremely honoured and privileged to be involved with creating Catherine’s wedding look. The team were equally delighted to be working with the family and styling the bridal party on such a special day. The entire salon team feel extremely proud of their association with the Middleton family and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for continued loyalty and support over the years and wish the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every happiness in their married life together."
