Royal and celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward is pleased to announce his return to ITV’s Alan Titchmarsh Show as resident hairdresser this autumn.
The series returned to ITV afternoons on 8th September 2014 and will run for fifty episodes, airing weekdays at 3pm. Richard reprises his role in this, his 3rd series as stylist to the makeover section.
The show features a weekly selection of regular strands including Style File, Cookery and Brilliant Beverages, as well as interviews with celebrity guests and lively performances from top West End musicals. Richard is on hand to deliver the very latest in expert hair tips, tricks and advice, and his expertise plays a key role in transforming the looks of one lucky member of the public/audience each week.
The production team often theme the makeover to ensure it covers such topics as dealing with hair loss post cancer treatment and rectifying colour mistakes. Richard often brings along one of his expert colour technicians to help create the dramatic ‘reveals’ that his segment has become synonymous with.
Richard said: ‘I am delighted to have been invited back to the Alan Titchmarsh Show for my 2nd series as resident hairdresser. It’s always fantastic experience and I relish the challenge of transforming a member of the public and giving them their dream hair. I love the challenge of live TV and find it as exhilarating as it is testing! I am very much looking forward to working with Alan and the fantastic ITV team once again.’

With experience spanning over four decades, the Smile team – including original owners Leslie Russell and Keith Wainwright, MBE - bring with them a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise gained over many years in the industry.

The addition of the Smile team to the established RW team now take the Celebrity and Royal Hairdresser’s total team members to 93, cementing Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa’s position as one of the largest independent salons in the UK.

Business guru for the hair and beauty industry, Hellen Ward, has been sworn in as the Chairman for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing industry body. The Fellowship for British Hairdressing and its members uphold the highest professional standards and believe in lifelong training and education. As an independent, non-political organisation, the Fellowship is also focused on ever-improving professional and supports the campaign for mandatory registration.
Hellen is married to celebrity and Royal hairdresser, Richard Ward SRH, and the couple run a dynamic business. Hellen is widely known and respected in the industry for her business acumen and her vision for brand development. She said: “I am delighted to become Chairman of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for 30 years, having worked my way up from apprentice to salon owner, so it is an honour and privilege to represent the Fellowship and its members who are undoubtedly the crème de la crème of our profession.”

On October 15th 2014, the salon celebrates its 22nd anniversary! In 1992, Richard and his wife Hellen bought the ailing Neville Daniel Salon in Knightsbridge from the receivers and set about creating the Richard Ward brand.
"It's so wonderful that Julie, our General Manager and Fiona, our Creative Director are still working along side us, 22 years later. Shortly after that, other long standing team members, Mario (Technical Director), Robert (Creative Director), Maria (Premier Technician) and Nando (Education Director) along side Gavin (Salon Manager of course) also started working with us to help us create and build the salon as it is today. We are so proud to be celebrating our 22nd anniversary and thank so many of the clients that have been with us right from the beginning, along with our newer clients who all help us to make the Richard Ward environment special." - Richard Ward
Headed by Artistic Director Cristiano Basciu, with Richard as the figurehead, the RW Art Team have a unique experience of creative work in all genres. From catwalk shows, photographic sessions, on-line tutorials and live and recorded TV makeovers to step-by-step sessions for book and magazine publications, the team have worked in every aspect of the media. With extensive experience of working with designers to create hair that works in perfect synergy with seasonal collections, the team have a vast wealth of knowledge and expertise in creating tailored, bespoke looks with their signature RW stamp. Gaining inspiration from their comprehensive reference library of retro hair from 1920’s onwards, inspiration starts with brainstorming as a creative collective to create mood boards and plan their sessions with unrivalled precision.
